Fairest by Marissa Meyer

Mirror, mirror on the wall,
Who is the fairest of them all?

Fans of the Lunar Chronicles know Queen Levana as a ruler who uses her “glamour” to gain power. But long before she crossed paths with Cinder, Scarlet, and Cress, Levana lived a very different story – a story that has never been told . . . until now.

Marissa Meyer spins yet another unforgettable tale about love and war, deceit and death. This extraordinary book includes full-color art and an excerpt from Winter, the next book in the Lunar Chronicles series.- Fairest summary on Goodreads

THIS IS NOT A STAND ALONE NOVEL, THIS IS A COMPANION NOVELLA FROM THE LUNAR CHRONICLES.

I LOVED this book. it was great to get to know more about the evil Queen Levana, and this book really shows that there is, two sides to every story. It explains a lot about her child hood and her rise to power, along with her first love, Winters father.

I Do feel like this book made me a little empathetic to Levana, but also i realized that even with the shit she was dealt she always had options, and she always chose the wrong thing!

This book is tiny, and it really rushes through the story, but since its a novella in the series, it fits perfect.

PLUS WE GOT THE FIRST THREE CHAPTERS OF WINTER!

gave this book 5 Keos.

WARNING THIS IS NOT A STAND ALONE BOOK. THIS IS A COLLECTION OF SHORT STORIES. TO ENJOY NOVEL, YOU SHOULD READ: THE INFERNAL DEVICES AND THE MORTAL INSTRUMENTS SERIES BY CASSANDRA CLARE.

I was so excited to read this book! I love Magnus and he was always such an enigma in the TID and TMI series it was really cool to learn more about him.

I was also fan girling like a lunatic because WILL HERONDALE (swoon), Ragnor Fell, and Rafael make appearances throughout the book and give me all kinds of feels, and we also get a chance to see some more Malek romance!

Little comics start the beginning of each chapter and the stories vary along the range of Magnus’s life. This book is definitely for the fans of Cassandra Clare’s series and it’s pretty impossible not to give it 5/5!

Now I’m super anxious for The Dark Artifices due out 2015!

Reaper's Stand By Joanna Wylde

And with two daughters to raise and a club to manage, that was just fine with him. These days, Reese keeps his relationships free and easy—he definitely doesn’t want to waste his time on a glorified cleaning lady like London Armstrong.

Too bad he’s completely obsessed with her.

Besides running her own business, London’s got her junkie cousin’s daughter to look after—a more reckless than average eighteen-year-old. Sure she’s attracted to the Reapers’ president, but she’s not stupid. Reese Hayes is a criminal and a thug. But when her young cousin gets caught up with a ruthless drug cartel, Reese might be the only man who can help her. Now London has to make the hardest decision of her life—how far will she go to save her family?
 Reaper's Stand summary on Goodreads

I really wasn’t interested in reading this book, I mostly just wanted to finish the series.. but I WAS PLEASANTLY SURPRISED by how much I loved it.

I always kind of looked at Reese like the older father figure. I wasn’t sure if I wanted to read his romance novel, but I was so wrong. He was sexy, smart and strong and his character didn’t deviate so much that I felt like it was someone different. I liked seeing this new side of him.

London was probably one of my favorite female characters of the series. She was so straight up about everything and I never found her whiny or annoying. At the end of the book (not giving anything away) she was so super badass and she matched Reese well.

The one thing I wish that would have been different is that we got to see a little bit more of Picnic’s loss for Heather. Maybe its just how Joanna Wylde wanted him portrayed or maybe she thought that it would hinder the love story between London and Reese but I felt like I was missing more of a connection between him and his dead wife, It would have made him more well-rounded.

Overall I loved this book and its one of my new favorites. 4.5 Keos.

Reaper's Legacy by Joanna Wylde

Eight years ago, Sophie gave her heart-and her virginity-to Zach Barrett on a night that couldn't have been less romantic or more embarrassing. Zach's step-brother, a steely-muscled, tattooed biker named Ruger, caught them in the act, getting a peep show of Sophie he's never forgotten.

She may have lost her dignity that fateful night, but Sophie also gained something precious-her son Noah. Unfortunately, Zach's a deadbeat dad, leaving Ruger to be Noah's only male role model. When he discovers Sophie and his nephew living in near poverty, Ruger takes matters into his own hands-with the help of the Reapers Motorcycle Club-to give them a better life.
Living with outlaw bikers wasn't Sophie's plan for her son, but Ruger isn't giving her a choice. He'll be there for Noah, whether she wants him or not. But Sophie does want him, has always wanted him. Now she'll learn that taking a biker to bed can get a girl dirty in every way. Reaper's Legacy summary onGoodreads

That little blurb made it sound way more hearts and flowers than it actually was. If you like Sons of Anarchy you’ll like this book.

Ruger is a sexy, strong, mans man who is all kinds of dark and twisted. He is far from the normal adult romance male character who even when he’s bad,  is actually all soft and sweet on the inside. Ruger makes it clear the only reason he does anything nice is because he cares for Noah and Sophie, and anyone else who isn’t a part of the Reapers MC can fuck off if they don’t like it. He really gave me conflicting feelings, I ALWAYS go for the good guys, but damn Ruger was awesome.

Sophie was also really badass. I loved the way that she stood up to Ruger no matter how much he intimidated her and she didn’t take his shit.

I accidentaly started the series with this book. As Much as i liked Sophie and Ruger and as much as i liked their story, i felt like the last few chapters and the ending was rushed, and i would have liked it to feel a little more complete. To me there wasn't a resolution to the twist in the book, it was brushed over to get the ending. i gave this book 3.5 Keos.

Reaper's Property by Joanna Wylde

Marie doesn’t need a complication like Horse. The massive, tattooed, badass biker who shows up at her brother’s house one afternoon doesn’t agree. He wants Marie on his bike and in his bed. Now.

But Marie just left her abusive jerk of an ex-husband and she’s not looking for a new man. Especially one like Horse—she doesn’t know his real name or where he lives, she’s ninety percent certain he’s a criminal and that the “business” he talks with her brother isn’t website design. She needs him out of her life, which would be a snap if he’d just stop giving her mind-blowing orgasms.

Horse is part of the Reapers Motorcycle Club, and when he wants something, he takes it. What he wants is Marie, but she’s not interested in becoming “property of”.

Then her brother steals from the club. Marie can save him by giving Horse what he wants—at home, in public, on his bike… If she’s a very, very good girl, she’ll get lots more of those orgasms only he can offer, and he’ll let her brother live.
Maybe. Reaper's Property summery on Goodreads

This book was a very sexy read. It had a great mix of romance and action to keep my attention. The main characters had a great chemistry and I loved their story.

Marie was awesome. A little naïve sometimes but still a strong character. I like that she always did what it took to protect the people she cares about. I also loved her normal, short, and curvy description.

Horse, Holy handsome yesness… I was really attracted to his character. The big, strong and sometimes silent type who would throw a funny and snide remark out at just the right times.

There were sometimes I wanted to smack the shit out of both of them, but by the end I knew there wasn’t a thing I would change. I know this review isn't that long, but its because this book just shocked me, this series defiantly isn't for readers who only like a hint of sexual content. Also this book has really graphic descriptions of violence. Overall though I loved this book it has to be one of my new favorites. 5 Keos!

Rules of Entanglement by Gina Maxwell

She has seven rules. He has seven days to break them.

District Attorney Vanessa MacGregor firmly believes that structure and order are the stuff that dreams are made of. Happiness can be planned—and it starts with the seven rules she’s laid out for her future. But as she’s organizing her best friend’s wedding in Hawaii, all of Vanessa’s best-laid plans are about to meet their match in a wickedly hot MMA fighter…

Jackson "Jax" Maris is focused on surfing, training, and fighting. That is, until he opens up his big mouth and finds himself having to pretend he’s engaged to his little sister’s best friend, Vanessa. When they’re forced to share a romantic bungalow, however, their little charade suddenly takes a turn for the seriously sexy. And while Jax is definitely not part of Vanessa’s long-term plan, he has seven days—and seven naughty nights—to turn her seven-rule plan upside down.- Rules of Entanglement summary from Goodreads
I loved Vanessa in Seducing Cinderella. I thought she was fun, quirky, and a total boss. When I saw that she was getting her own book with Lucie’s protective older brother I thought that they would be perfect. Some times she drove me a little crazy with how neurotic she was, but it all makes sense with her past and the people that have hurt her. I really liked her protectiveness of not just her friends, but of people in general. I think it meshed well with her profession and made her a more realistic character.
I also liked how substantial Jacksons character was. He wasn’t the type A everything has to be in order kind of guy I was picturing.. He surprised me, he was so laid back and charming on the surface but a sexy strong alpha male deep down. His plot twist, was kind of predictable but how Gina Maxwell carried it into the story and how he struggled with it made me like him all the more.

This was a really sweet read, it had a beautiful setting in Hawaii and that set the path to some super romantic scenes. I think the only reason I didn’t absolutely love it was because the concept was kind of way out of the realm of reality. Who has ever had to actually pretend to be their best friend for a week and plan their entire wedding for them? Sometimes that plays up to the romance story, it kind of helps the reader escape there day to day with something fantastical and It did it make for a lot of cute situations, but sometimes if also came off cheesy. i gave this book 3.5 Keos.
